This analytical research is motivated by the requirement for publication as a student, as well as a prerequisite for proposing a research seminar and submitting a written report on pre-internship activities for one month at the institution. Hence, the researcher conducted a study on the importation system of pharmaceuticals, raw materials, and medical equipment carried out by RSBP Batam. The goal of this research is to understand the role and policies held by the hospital in exercising its rights and authority to conduct procurement transactions for hospital needs. The method used to gather data is qualitative, which means the data obtained is primary data. Interviews were conducted with relevant authorities as the primary sources of the required information. The findings of the research show that RSBP Batam used to have the authority to directly purchase pharmaceuticals from abroad in small quantities due to specific reasons. However, after the implementation of regulations and policies from the central government regarding direct pharmaceutical imports, RSBP Batam has ceased to purchase pharmaceuticals from overseas. This is because there are official distributors who can handle the regulations, and domestically produced medicines use the same ingredients as the ones commonly imported from abroad.
