Factors of Low Community Education in Setia Harapan Hamlet, Sungai Rengit Village, Talang Kelapa Sub-District

Abstract

Education is a benchmark for the development of human resources and the mindset of the community in an area.Education aims to facilitate humans in developing the potential of human interests, talents and abilities optimally, so that individuals can actualise themselves and be useful for themselves and society in an area. This research aims to find out the factors that cause the phenomenon of low education rates. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach.Data collection was carried out using a literature review study.This research found that there are still many people in the loyal hamlet who only graduated from elementary school (SD) and junior high school (SMP). The factors that cause this phenomenon are divided into two, namely factors originating from internal factors that occur due to the low mindset of the community, the cost of education and the distance travelled with damaged conditions and factors originating from external factors, namely the lack of attention from the local government through the Banyuasin Regency Education Office, the Sungai Rengit Village apparatus and the Setia Harapan hamlet apparatus.
